The reason why I think this music video is so influential is mainly because it is one of Michael Jackson’s songs. Michael Jackson was considered the 'king of pop' and was extremely famous for the Jackson 5 and videos like the thriller.
Mainly Michael Jacksons earlier videos showed a story. However some don't but they still have a strong meaning to go with some serious topics for example "they don't really care about us"
Also Michael Jackson got this inspiration for this music video from a Fred Astaire comedy film called 'the bang wagon' the reason it reminds me of this is because of the 1930s looking night club and all the dancing. Also Beyoncé is seen in her 'Naughty girl' music video to be using the same theme.
Also another reason for this being as influential is because of Jacksons legendary dance moves showing the; moonwalk and the leaning dance move he does. Many artists today have copied Jackson’s style of dance e.g. Chris Brown, Usher, Ne-yo and Justin Bieber.
Also the lyrics and the video go together so it isn’t difficult to understand. A lot of music videos have now been set in clubs and have a lot of dancing in it and Michael Jackson could be the influence
