Final music video

my final music video

I’m happy with how my music video has turned out as many seemed to have enjoyed it. I think adding more scenes of singing and dancing worked well. Also we re-filmed the night scenes, this looks much better as you can see what is happening now. We also added a new bit after they get dressed, where you can see they are moving to a different place, by jumping in to the next scene. I liked this bit as it flows well.  At the end we added a scene of them playing and dancing around, this was one long clip but we cut it to much it shorter and make it seem like it was different clips to speed it up so the viewer wouldn't get bored with the continuous scene.

Overall I think this project has been successful and I’m happy with the end result.

Plan for digipak and advert

when planning the digipak we analysed many other types of digipak. gathering a lot of different ideas which we could incorporate in to our own work.

Digipak

We choose to present our digipak in a certain way that all the sections would make sense when you open it. The first section we have chosen to add a girl giving a dirty look so it links up with the section with the boy and girls. We have chosen for our CD section to make the actual CD and back ground the same. We did this because it seem very different and when analysing other digipaks, we didn’t see anything like this only on one. The reason the background isn’t coloured in is because it is a white brick wall, but you can’t see the lines unfortunately. The front cover, which is the third section is a group picture of the dancers, we did this so everyone could be included and make it more personal.

Finally the back section, we drew a silhouette of a couple walking away, to show it all works out and what type of song this is.

With our advert we chose not to do much detail with the faces etc. As we liked how is looked without all the detail as it gave it a neater/cleaner look. However we had a problem, as we didn't know if we should draw the dancers with bodies as we like how it looked without them. The main colour is blue as it relates to the video as throughout everything is mainly blue. Similar to Annie Mac it is quite a simplistic style, however it could be considered that it doesn’t go with the 'quirkiness' of the video.

DIGIPAKS

DIGIPAKS

A digipak is a book style paperboard/card cover normally used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums. It consists of 3 panels which open up like a book, they are different to the jewel cases as they show damage faster.

Looking at a variety of digipaks I found that all consisted of pictures (some of artist), they trademark symbols and the lyrics (some came out in a leaflet). All these aspects are done to advertise their work and to make it stand out. Other things printed on the digipak were producers and companies.

When looking at the CD covers I learnt that in order to make my digipak stand out I will have to pick out some ideas from the examples. Such as the colours, many pictures were quite atmospheric and colourful at the same time. I liked this as it will be fun to play around with the brightness of the costumes etc. also the idea of having a trademark symbol like the kings of Leon, interested me as well, as it would be a stand out mark when advertising. However most of the covers didn’t included the artists. Maybe this was because of the genre, as artist like Lily Allen had pictures of herself.  I would be more inclined to go down the route of Lily Allen as her pictures are quite fun and quirky.
